My Plugins

I wanted to list the plugins I use to help others that are setting up a WordPress blog and are interested in something I am using. Most of the plugins are free in the WordPress directory, but I use several plugins from Codecanyon and a couple from their own website. The ones you have to buy have my affiliate link in them so I am being honest up front. Hopefully my list here interest you and I am always interested in feedback. Maybe you know of a plugin that will outperform one of mine. I am open-minded. Theme

  • Avada – Most sold theme I know and it can be built in so many possibilities. This website shows off many of it’s features.
  • X Theme – I tried this one and didn’t like it. It’s $64 which makes Avada look like the much better choice. Don’t buy this one if you can use Avada.

WordPress Plugins

  • *Calendarize It! for WordPress – Calendarize it! for WordPress is a powerful calendar and event plugin (Now with support for Visual Composer)
  • *eForm – A robust plugin to gather feedback and run survey or host Quiz on your WordPress Blog. Stores the gathered data on database.
  • Force Regenerate Thumbnails – Delete and REALLY force the regenerate thumbnail.
  • *Fusion Core (Avada Theme Plugin) – ThemeFusion Core Plugin for ThemeFusion Themes
  • Members – A user and role management plugin that puts you in full control of your site’s permissions. This plugin allows you to edit your roles and their capabilities, clone existing roles, assign multiple roles per user, block post content, or even make your site completely private.
  • *NextGEN Gallery by Photocrati – The most popular gallery plugin for WordPress and one of the most popular plugins of all time with over 14 million downloads.
  • *NextGEN Plus by Photocrati – A premium add-on for NextGEN Gallery with beautiful new gallery displays and a fullscreen, responsive Pro Lightbox with social sharing and commenting.
  • Postmatic Social Commenting – A tiny, fast, and convenient way to let your readers comment using their social profiles.
  • Total Support Widget – The Total Support Widget gives you Patreon, 20 social & support links, and Sendy or Mailchimp signup.
  • *WP Real Media Library – Organize your wordpress media library in a nice way.
  • WP-Markdown – Allows you to use MarkDown in posts, BBPress forums and comments.
  • WP-Optimize – This plugin helps you to keep your database clean by removing post revisions and spams in a blaze. Additionally it allows you to run optimize command on your WordPress core tables (use with caution).
  • *WP Real Media Library – Turn your WordPress media library to the next level with folders / categories.

I am always looking for ways to reduce my plugins to capture better speed but it’s difficult. I use a solid VPS and Amazon AWS to help things along.

I have switched completely to SSDNodes and with Wiredtree gone and the sale to Liquid Web I said goodbye and switched. After starting with SSDNodes in April, 2017, I wish I had it done it years ago. I had no idea what I was missing and got so much more for my money. The downside is that is it unmanaged, but I would do it 1000x again.

Removed Plugins (Removed because of different reasons)

  • Crowd Control by Postmatic – Crowd Control gives your users the ability to report comments as inappropriate with a single click. If a comment gets flagged multiple times it’ll be removed from the post and marked as pending moderation. We’ll even send you an email to let you know. Now you can still go away on vacation and rest assured the trolls won’t overrun your site.
  • Elevated Comments – Analyze comments to determine which are most articulate & relevant. Place them near the top of the post.
  • Epoch Version – Native commenting made realtime, mobile, CDN and Cache friendly, and full of SEO mojo as well. Commenting perfected.
  • EWWW Image Optimizer – Reduce file sizes for images within WordPress including NextGEN Gallery and GRAND FlAGallery. Uses jpegtran, optipng/pngout, and gifsicle.
  • Foo Gallery – Needed something more light compared to NextGen Gallery. I miss the commenting feature though.
  • Foo Box – You need a light box and this works with Foo Gallery. Still in probationary status.
  • Postmatic Basic – No short description.
  • *White Label Login for WordPress – Provides White Label Login modules for WordPress: Slide-, Push- and Modal Login, Advanced Security features like IP blocking, Google reCAPTCHA and Google Authenticator. Custom e-mailas for registration and reset password. Custom Login and Logout redirects by User Role. Custom links for each form, Re-write rules for wp-admin and wp-login.php. Social Network Login (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Microsoft Live), and Visual CSS Editor for customizing colors and fonts for each screen.
  • WooCommerce – An e-commerce toolkit that helps you sell anything. Beautifully.
  • *WordPress Social Stream – Create a single social stream from facebook, twitter, google +1, rss, delicious, flickr, youtube,, pinterest, stumbleupon, dribbble, vimeo, tumblr, instagram & deviantart feeds.
  • WordPress Zero Spam – Tired of all the useless and bloated WordPress spam plugins? The WordPress Zero Spam plugin makes blocking spam a cinch. Just install, activate and say goodbye to spam.
  • Simple 301 Redirects – Create a list of URLs that you would like to 301 redirect to another page or site. Now with wildcard support.
  • Simple Share Buttons Adder – A simple plugin that enables you to add share buttons to all of your posts and/or pages.
  • Super Socializer – A complete 360 degree solution to provide all the social features like Social Login, Social Commenting, Social Sharing and more. (I didn’t want to create social accounts and only used it for commenting and Postmatic Social Commenting eliminated the need for this plugin.)
  • 404 to Start – Send 404 page not found error directly to start page (or any other page/site) to overcome problems with search engines. With optional email alert.
  • BitPay for WooCommerce – Enable your WooCommerce store to accept Bitcoin with BitPay. (May be removed since Stripe takes Bitcoin)
  • Blubrry Powerpress – PowerPress is the No. 1 Podcasting plugin for WordPress.
  • *Bookly Version – The plugin supports a wide range of services provided by business and individuals who offer reservations through websites. Set up any reservation quickly, pleasantly and easily with Bookly!
  • Use Google Libraries – Allows your site to use common javascript libraries from Google’s AJAX Libraries CDN, rather than from WordPress’s own copies.
  • *WC Stripe Gateway – The Stripe Payment Gateway for WooCommerce plugin, allowing customers to securely save their credit card to their account for use with single purchases, pre-orders, subscriptions, and more!
  • *Indeed Ultimate Affiliate Pro – The most complete and easy to use Affiliate system Plugin that provides you a complete solution for your affiliates.
  • Really Simple SSL – Lightweight plugin without any setup to make your site ssl proof. I use this in conjunction with Cloudflare Flexible SSL.
  • Selection Sharer – Medium like popover menu to share on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn or by email any text selected on the page, based on the code of @xdamman (
  • *WP Rocket – The best WordPress performance plugin. I just don’t feel like it does much, especially as a paid plugin.

There are reasons for some. Too heavy, the support wasn’t there, or just didn’t need it. I want to give everyone a fast experience when they are here.
