John McCain is, in my mind, a tragic hero. He was the man we needed in 2000, but didn’t get. In 2008, he’s the man we got and didn’t need. He’s a man that deserves his own party, not one that has to use fear mongering and divisive (hearsay based) whisper campaigns to get elected. Many will say his weaknesses in economics or choosing Sarah Palin was his downfall. That wasn’t the reason I started rooting for the other guy. It was the reversal of character, aligning him with the far-right and resorting to the same mudslinging techniques that brought him down in 2000 that changed my mind. He stopped being the John McCain all of us centrists loved, the John McCain that stated, publically, the Bush campaign should cease tarnishing John Kerry’s war record. Right before our eyes, he morphed into every other red-state pandering republican and in some cases worse (I haven’t heard cries of “Socialist” in my adult life). I know why he did it, to win, but how would you feel if your favorite baseball pitcher changed teams and when asked why would he change uniforms, when he was so beloved by his previous city, his answer was, “To win.” The situation he fell into, with this election, warranted extreme measures, but unfortunately all measures taken led him away from his historical appeal.
Everything else aside, it was good to see the old McCain, again. His sincerity was apparent to all that watched the speech. His lifetime of service to his country remains a model to emulate and his demeanor, even in defeat, is worthy of our utmost respect.
]]>If you read closely I am going to blow the lid off of the reason Hilary is losing, and Obama is winning. No one wants to say it on the air because they know the Clinton campaign will demand answers and apologies like the “I am a mom first” routine after someone said Hilary was pimping Chelsea out (which by normal American views…she was). Only 80% of us Americans are stupid enough to think otherwise about Hilary and thank God I am the other 20% (I think). Ok that’s it. I am saying it. The real reason Hilary is losing is not because she is a woman, but it’s because she sucks. She could be a tranny for all we give a shit. She is the worst of the worst for choices. The only reason Obama is beating her is because he doesn’t suck as bad. However, he still sucks, though but for some reason that 80% is really rooting for him.
I know everyone reading this is thinking what a Republican. Damn your smart if you were however, I will trump you by saying McCain sucks too. He would of been great 4-8 years ago but he has nothing really to bring to the table except his dying wish. I mean honestly if you look forward to November you’re crazy. I wish all of could strike until they bring someone better. I mean it’s not even like we started with the cream of the crop either. We bottomed out even before the first debate. I have been a bit depressed and completely uninterested for the last 4-6 months with politics becuase of all of this. From everything, even the fake we will bring your jobs back, to the we can still win stuff.
If my President is working on jobs in a local community in the White House and not on the overall economy, or some foreign trade policy I am calling for an impeachment. Let the Senators handle their states. Why put Obama in so he can raise my taxes and cut the military? Why put Hilary in the House so she can feel like she made it as a woman? Why put McCain in the house so he can die of natural causes? I will add that I admire McCains military service and is a man among men.
People need to shut their lips about Hilary needing to stay in the race. She needs to get out because she sucks. Yes, I know I could use another term like “not right for the job” or “not as skilled” but it would take away from my true thoughts. Basically, she is plastic or a phony. We certainly don’t need a Clinton repeat. Lastly, I am ready to get a real race on between 2 party’s. McCain has a huge advantage right now. It’s like he isn’t racing against anyone. Obama would get my vote if he was republican and had different stances on all his views. McCain would get my vote if he was 20 years younger.
So if I am unhappy with everyone who will I vote for? I am hoping out of nowhere some awesome independant will miraculously pop up and be allowed in the race. Yes, I know I am dreaming so my only answer is that I will vote McCain and hope he has a sharp Vice President that is competent enough to take over if the need arises. It’s the best I have and the best any of America has. I feel like a boy looking for a unicorn. (Sorry I couldn’t think of a less gay way to put it)
