Well today I go to my favorite gas station….they actually still pump the gas for you. I pull in and see the guy out at the sign I figure he is out there changing the per gallon cost since it dropped .12 cents. Nope he was putting up “”CLOSED” I could not believe it. Knowing the owner for years I go in to find out what is going on. He says I am losing too much money, I can not afford to stay open.

When gas prices first started to rise his cost was .1 cent higher and I understand he was a full service station. Then as the prices kept growing and growing he removed the penny and set his prices to the same as the self service stations here in town. We had 4 gas stations in our small town all self service but his. Now we have 3 self service only.

I have seen over the past 2 years several small businesses close in our town and a few larger ones. But I have to admit I was pretty shocked at the closing of this gas station they had been in business for over 50 years. So one less station and 6 more unemployed.

As a small business owner in a very competitive business each day is filled with stress! Not to mention complaints, problems and much humor. With today’s economy and all the events, and changes taking place everyone needs to vent about the things they like and the things they do not like, even a female small business owner.

With that said I come to Adam’s World and vent about things my way! The REAL way I feel and not a cleaned up version of how I feel.
If I want to say shit or damn and maybe even $4.19 for a gallon of gas this just sucks…I can! Because it is true and that is exactly how I feel!
If I want to say why should I vote? Popular vote don’t count for shit! That is how I feel!
If I want to say my favorite TV show is “Hell’s Kitchen” I can even if Ramsey says the “F” word!

If I say something you don’t like. Then comment on it that’s what it’s there for. If you don’t want to comment on Adam’s World then don’t bitch about what I say or write!
If you write something I don’t like or I disagree with I will comment. Hell I am an adult and I know everyone has his or her own views.

I write how I feel about something, I do not get vulgar, and I do not use the “F” word. I do not have to back up my views with facts! I rant and rave and release my stress! That’s why I like Adam’s World.

We used to have just a regular Walmart nice choice of pretty much everything but groceries. So some dumb shit decided we needed a Super Walmart. Now mind you we are a small town population of 5037 in 2000 I am guessing less now. Anyway we had 2 very nice grocery stores an IGA and a Marsh Super Market. So hello Super Walmart and good-bye 2 grocery stores. So I go to Walmart looking for clips for my flag pole…no luck. So I thought ok maybe if I look for a American flag or flag kit the clips would be close to that.

I walked that store 2 times looking. Finally I go to the front desk where can I find a American flag or flag kit? I was told to check stationary. I said NO I am looking for an actual flag, pole and line you know that type thing. I was told I don’t think we carry those you might try back at home and garden? Well I had been to home and garden 2 times already and did not want to go a third time. So I just said “Well hell of course you don’t carry them your a Super Walmart. You had to get rid of the American flag, sheets, towels, curtains, rugs, 1/2 of your clothing, to make room for your grocery section!”

And speaking of grocery section have you ever tried shopping for groceries at Walmart. Maybe it’s just me or just our Super Walmart but I do not like having to walk to the other side of the entire store to get cat food, I do not like waiting in long lines with ice cream in my cart can’t they take out some more items we all need and make a check out for grocery only? Maybe I am just set in my ways of how I used to shop for food. When the vinegar was where it should be instead of in a place it takes you an hour to find. Or when the I want to treat my niece to some home made chicken and noodles and the chicken broth might as well be hidden up some chickens ass.

And if you have to follow a special diet GOOD LUCK! If you have to have sugar free they carry one (1) low sugar cereal, 1 sugar free pudding, 1 sugar free ice cream. And if you want onions trust me grow your own! I guess you get my point! But hell they sale beer and wine so you can buy a ton of that to drown away the anger of just how SUPER Walmart really is!

A time when we could wreck our cars rushing to the gas station to buy gas before it jumps another 5 cents per gallon. Then get pissed off because 2 days after we fill up it drops 3 cents cheaper per gallon.
A time when we go to the grocery we are paying twice the cost for food and want to stuff the food manager in a potato bag and plant him in a field because we are tired of shopping on Sunday and throwing out poor quality food on Tuesday.
A time when it costs more to mint the penny than what the penny is worth. Poor old Abe!
A time when the only people bitching about the economy, are the ones that can’t do a damn thing about it. And the ones who can…. think our economy is fine.
A Time when the hunt for something in your home that says Made In The USA can be made into a board game called ”Where’s America”
A time when riding a moped to work was out of the question because you would look like a blooming idiot, but now makes you look like a genius.
A time when our wonderful President decides to give us all a rebate checks to boost the economy. But the only way to keep the money in the USA is if we all spend it on beer, or prostitution the only two business left in the US. *Note read that in an email joke author not known but true!
A time when customer service reps are either a recording or someone that cannot speak English and you cannot understand a damn word they are trying to say! My new voice mail message, “Sorry I can’t come to the phone right now, please leave a message if you can speak plain English, if not call back when you can!”
A time when the teenage vocabulary has changed so much that the “F” word is now a noun, verb and adjective.
A time when all store bought products are now new and improved or flavored or scented. Makes me wonder what moron decided to advertise the original product is not as good?
A time when we have to check products coming into the US for lead and other chemicals because our Government does not set the same manufacturing standards for others as it does for Americans. “Here’s Your Sign!”
A time when your Social Security checks will not even cover the cost of your medications. And disability is given to drug addicts and alcoholics, and getting government aid to help your family has become a way of life.
A time when the SBA is helping more aliens start a business in the U.S. than helping America’s!

Welcome to 2008! I am so excited and looking forward to what 2009 will bring!
