These days advertising isn’t limited to anything or even anyone. You can actually get paid to tattoo an advertisement onto your body. The world is ad crazy and we are only getting into the 21st Century. The 20th Century was known as the Industrial Age/Information Age so will it be possible the 21st Century will be the Advertisement Age? With the dollar being the trade for the word on a product and why you should buy it, it astounds me that people are still willing to promote for free.
People happily walk around with the Nike Swoosh, the Adidas Stripes, the Sean Jean name brand and they will do it for nothing in return. Why aren’t people cutting these things off, or demanding the product be given for free in exchange for them wearing it? Ahh, the answer is those people wearing it are not important enough to be compensated. We devalue regular people not in magazines, playing sports, or not in some kind of spotlight. You choose to undervalue your advertisement space by continuing to wear name brands that offer nothing but the name of someone getting richer by the moment.
My question is will this change? Probably not because people make a statement that they could even afford that clothing in the first place. I mean after all you are going to be popular with the white collar America because you wear Polo right? Wait a minute did you say no? Then who are you impressing? The answer in no one, and you are so good at it. Like they say, you should grow up to be good at something so it minus well be at advertising for someone for free. When you’re ready I will get you some Adam Mulholland sneakers and tees, and if you are really lucky I will throw in a hat and hoodie with my name on it.
With the age of the internet everything is for sale. I can’t go 10ft without being advertised to. I have seen everything from cars being painted in company colors with the product in the paint job to haircuts with a logo in the cut. We no longer offer products for trade in this country because we outsourced everything to other countries. Instead we offer tangible space for the next gimmick. That should raise the country’s GNP pretty quickly. We lost our minds in this day and it doesn’t seem like it’s slowing down anytime soon. Maybe it’s just me but I won’t wear a thing for free unless it’s a knock off or I am being paid for it. So advertise that.
